FDA Recall
Men interested in Maxidus should be aware that the product was originally sold under the brand name Libidus. The FDA yanked the product after it was tested and found to discover an undeclared ingredient, sildenafil.
Sildenafil is the active ingredient in Viagra, a product only offered by prescription.
Viagra is just one of the many medications that have proven to be highly successful in the treatment of ED. The medications that belong to the class of drugs called PDE5 inhibitors work by relaxing the muscles via increasing nitric oxide and allowing the blood flow to be increased. You will not achieve an immediate automatic erection with the use of these drugs, but they will improve your body’s response to stimulation.
While this is not a suggestion to buy or a recommendation of these drugs, you should be aware of what you are choosing.
Possible side effects: dizziness, runny nose, headache, trouble sleeping, bloody nose, abnormal vision, nausea, diarrhea or blindness. The company soon regrouped and replaced Libidus with Maxidus a product described as containing an upgraded and improved formula.
Side Effects
There are some health effects associated with Maxidus. Some men have reported headaches and trouble sleeping, an effect that may be due to stimulating ingredients included in the formula like Tongkat Ali.
Tongkat has also been known to cause anxiety and because it can affect testosterone levels, it is not meant to be used by men suffering from certain medical conditions or taking medications for these conditions including diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, and sleep apnea.
The majority of these side effects are the result due to the main active ingredient Sildenafil. Let’s take a look at the many side effects that can take place.
Most common side effects:
- Burning feeling in stomach or chest
- Rapid heartbeats
- Anxiety
- Twitching
- Insomnia
- Pins and needles
- Burning sensations
- Rashes or red patches on the skin
- Headaches
- Abnormal vision — seeing shades of colors differently than before — sensitivity to light
Some of the side effects from Sildenafil may not need medical attention as your body can adjust to it and the side effects can disappear.
Another important point to make is that most of if not all of the ‘herbal Viagra’ brands claim that each ingredient contained in the pills are all natural, but in fact, they contain dangerously high levels of prescription only, anti-obesity and ED drugs that are contained in prescribed Viagra.
They claim that there are no side effects which are completely untrue, some of them produce the exact same side effects as Viagra and reports state that many outdated Viagra pills are crushed up and added to the so-called ‘herbal Viagra’ so beware. If a company or seller won’t give you a detailed report of the exact ingredients in their product, then it’s clear something is wrong.
Play It Safe
Just to be on the safe side, if you haven’t been prescribed Sildenafil then make a visit to your GP before you take any and if you are taking it and you have experienced any of the above go visit your GP and discuss the side effects. Another interesting fact to add is that if you don’t suffer from ED and you are using Sildenafil for a sexual enhancement, long-term use can lead to ED if you stop using it.
Ingredients
Maxidus is one of the older male sexual enhancers on the market. The ingredients found in the formula, however, are not unique and will quickly be recognized by those who have tried other sexual stimulants.
Tongkat Ali
Eurycoma longifolia jack, also known as Malaysian ginseng or Tongkat Ali, has the properties of medicine i.e. curing, healing or relieving. This medicinal herb is natural born to the Malaysian dense evergreen forests, which have abundant rainfall throughout the year. Like many other non-native, Tongkat Ali is well-received in customary medicine methodology. Its fundamental use has been to foster healthy libido and boost normal hormone levels in males.
Tongkat Ali root has long been used as an aphrodisiac and cure for age-related sexual disorders and symptoms of menopause (secure but calm diminution of the production of the hormones testosterone and Dehydroepiandrosterone in middle-aged males and the outcomes of that reduction).
This root carries compounds that have again and again been shown to activate libido, upgrade semen quality, and even support muscle development and improvement. The ingredient comes from the roots of the Tongkat Ali tree and has been reported to increase testosterone levels, leading to an improvement in sexual desire, sexual performance and enhancing the strength and size of their erections.
Ginseng
Also referred to as Chinese Ginseng or Korean Ginseng or True Ginseng, is one of the pre-historic time-honored herbal remedies; It is also known as Panax Ginseng(Panax is a Greek word that means all cure)In comparison to the other varieties of Ginseng, the Asian Ginseng has been found to be more restoring and reviving.
As far as an intensification of sexual desire is concerned, the herb is far more useful for men than it is for women because instead of aiming the area of concern, it intensifies blood flow to every part of the whole body. Out of the four known Ginseng herbs, only two are the genuine ones. The Asian or Panax Ginseng and the American Ginseng ( also known as Quinquefolius Ginseng).
Herbal cistanches is another ingredient in the formula blend and has been used to improve sexual functioning.
Ginkgo Biloba
The Chinese have been using the leaves and nuts of the ginkgo tree for thousands of years to increase sexual vitality, promote longevity, and treat a variety of ailments such as asthma, allergies, congested lungs, impaired hearing, cancer, and venereal disease.
Until recently, ginkgo was largely ignored by the rest of the world, but now ginkgo is enjoying a worldwide surge of popularity because researchers have confirmed what the Chinese learned through generations of practical experience. Ginkgo contains chemical compounds that, over a period of time, produce remarkable effects on the human body.
Results
Despite all of the promises made by Maxidus, the results are mixed. Although we took the product as described, we did not get results within an hour of taking, in fact, several hours after consuming we still waited for the effects to kick in.
No bigger erections, no revved up libido and no drawn-out sexual sessions occurred. Our energy levels, however, did have a moderate improvement. For men looking to quickly get intimate, the Maxidus formula can be removed from the capsule and just the powder can be taken.
This will supposedly stimulate sexual desire and response in just 10 minutes.
Is It Worth It?
Maxidus does get some points for being one of the older sexual enhancers still on the market. Longevity, however, cannot make up for the products many shortcomings.
Although the products claims of effects lasting for up to 4 days, explosive erections and greater erection firmness are enticing, the results appear to be mixed for consumers.
In short, men can find plenty of more effective, sexual stimulating alternatives on the market.
